This is Provence. I’ve road tripped through rolling vineyards, olive groves, pine forests and lavender fields. And then there’s the glamorous Côte d'Azur, of course!

Here are my top 10 highlights.

Favorite Towns:

1.Marseille
The second-largest city in France boasts a rich maritime history and vibrant cultural scene. The city is a gateway to Provence, but has its own charm – from amazing pizza to the bustling port.

2. Gordes
A mesmerizing village perched on top of a hill. The views are endless with cafes and boutiques at every corner. For the perfect gifts (for you or your nearest and dearest), pick up some local Herbs de Provence and truffles at Diamont Noir.

3. Saint-Remy-de-Provence
Yet another picturesque Provence village that does not disappoint. Vincent Van Gogh spent time here at the asylum and some of his most notable works are from here - think The Starry Night and Irises.

4. Lavender Fields
Lavender season is typically June through July (but can always change depending on how dry/hot the weather is). Check out Abbaye Notre-Dame de Sénanque where you’ll be rewarded with endless fields of lavender, as well as all kinds of lavender products. A few other towns that offer Instagram-worthy lavender fields are Sault, Valensole Plateau and Drôme. Be sure to go in the morning to beat the heat and crowds!

5. Wine Tasting and Food Market Tour
The best tour for food and wine lovers starts with the old town of Aix-en-Provence. You’ll be guided through the oldest food market in the region, before heading to the Provençal countryside for wine tasting at historical vineyards.

7. La Madeleine

10. Day Trip to Parc National des Calanques & Cassis

This park is the hidden jewel of Provence with breathtaking hikes and beautiful sandy beaches with turquoise water. In the summertime, it can definitely get busy, but much less crowded than the more well-known beaches on the French Riviera. After some much-needed Vitamin D, head to the fishing town of Cassis for lunch.

Wine Notes:
This region of France is mostly known for reds, but also makes a variety of whites as well. Château de la Gardine and Château de Vaudieu are favorites of mine for their private tours and tastings.
